The Two Sides of Surrender

When we surrender from a space of depletion, our bodies often feel tight, small, or frozen.

There’s a sense of resignation—a quiet giving up because life feels too heavy.

The nervous system moves into shut-down, the breath becomes shallow, and the heart closes to protect itself.

But when we surrender from embodiment—from fullness, from wholeness—our bodies feel different.

The breath softens.

The chest opens.

There’s a groundedness in the feet, a spaciousness in the heart, and a sense of curiosity that says, “I wonder what’s next.”

One surrender is a contraction.

The other, an expansion.
