Do You Believe That You Can Heal?

One of the questions I ask during my initial consultation with a patient is: Do you believe that you can heal?

If the answer is yes, then we can start our journey together.

If the answer is maybe or no, we need to delve deeper.

When we get to the core of it, many people who suffer from long-term chronic illness feel that they don’t deserve to heal or they are not worthy of healing.

I’m here to tell you that as long as you are still here, on this earth and in your body, you have the ability to heal.

When you cut your finger, you don’t need to tell your body to heal the cut, it does it on its own. Your body is always trying to heal in some capacity.

There are things that can slow down your healing and that is what we address.

Physically, we all know that we need to be aware of our diet and exercise patterns. There are also supplements that can support healing depending on which systems have slowed down or if there’s an infection.

It is critical that you have a properly functioning nervous system. If your nervous system is constantly running your sympathetic programming and is on alert, healing will take longer.

A lot of energy in your body is diverted to keeping you on alert.

The first set of treatments with a new patient is focused on shifting from the sympathetic to the parasympathetic (rest and digest) system where healing takes place most efficiently.

Once the parasympathetic system is turned on, we begin to address the role of the emotional and mental subsystems.

Most practitioners miss the mental and emotional components of healing, however, if not addressed, true change and whole-body healing cannot take place.
