Proactive Change

The current signs are pointing to a year of change in 2023.

The financial markets are up and down, the weather, the job markets, the health sector, etc.

The question is, are you going to flow with the change or resist it?

While we may not be in control of everything that happens to us in life, we are in control of how we choose to respond to what happens to us.

When you know that change is going to happen, ask yourself, how can I prepare in advance so that I can direct the change in my favour?

This is being a proactive agent in change versus a reactive one.

Here’s how we can apply this to your life.

Let’s say that you start to notice that there’s less work for you at your office. Then you hear about restructuring happening. You can either wait to see if you’ll keep your job or you can prepare in case you don’t.

What steps could you take? Update your resume, start to look around at other opportunities, start looking for leads, get references together, look to upgrade your current skills, start a side hustle, etc.

If anything were to happen and you suddenly lost your job, you would already ahead of the game.

Be the change and use change to propel you forward. Resist the change and life will force you to change.
