Day 10: Why Receiving Can Feel So Hard

One of the most surprising things I’ve discovered about myself is that receiving often felt uncomfortable.

Not just receiving money.

Receiving help.

Receiving support.

Receiving opportunities.

Receiving gifts.

Receiving abundance.

Little did I know, the receiving wasn’t the problem.

Receiving triggered, shame and activated unfinished emotions that had never been fully processed.

And because I didn’t understand that, my nervous system reached a conclusion:

Getting what I want feels bad.

If getting what you want feels bad…

Why would you allow yourself to receive it?
